He had a perfect life, a dutiful wife whom he loved, a year of marriage and his perfect life crumpled under the weight of shock when he read her diary.
Pournima Apte had lived her life the way she wanted, she was an elegant, smart and confident woman with the charm that could make any guy fall for her. But out of the dozens that fell for her, she reciprocated the feelings of just one.
Life was lovely after that, new love, bike ride, lunch dates, the way the jitters surfed in her body when she saw Abhinav, everything was magical and she found herself lucky.
But destiny didn’t want her story to have a magical ending after all, she found herself lurking in the alleys of despair and hearbreak. She couldn’t go forward or go back. She lost her wish to strive.
Time heals everything and so did she, though a scar was left behind, she was ready to take on the world.
History repeated itself and she found her heart being toyed by the desires of another. Alcohol and betrayal drove her into the arms of someone who she never thought would pacify her and she did something that had been taboo for her.
He didn’t care about her past for he loved her, but there was something in the diary that broke his heart, read My Wife’s Diary to find out.
The book is written in a diary entry format and the upto mark presentation is one of the best things about it.
Pournima’s encounter with some situations that she had mentioned in her diary were the things that made the book interesting.
The book had been skillfully written and edited that it didn’t take me more than two hours to complete the book. Kudos to the author for being able to do that.
The cover of the book is very appropriate and one of the most beautiful covers I have encountered while reading. I would buy the book for the beautiful cover itself.
The book is a light read and the small size will help you hide it anywhere if you are trying to sneak-read books when you are not supposed to.
Ratings- 2.5 out of 5 stars.
Despite the fact that the presentation impressed me , the plot of the book was highly disappointing as the blurb had raised my expectations.
I wanted to read something where the husband was involved as well but was clueless about his wife’s plight.
More I read the book, more I hoped for it to happen but I was disappointed in the end.
The book is written in the form of diary entries and in one or two places the time mentioned and the way the events were described were not relevant.
A request to the author, next time you are writing a love scene, kindly try to avoid writing a woman’s breasts as “boobs” and maintain uniformity in the terminology used.
