Review-

Our mind has demons of its own to  conquer and this book serves as an eye-opener in that regard.

Demons in my mind by Aashish Gupta is a book that lives upto its title and nowhere between the pages would a reader want to quit reading out of boredom.

It is the stort of three monks who narrate their sins to an old man who has the perspective of having already suffered for all his sins and he deserves death as a relief to his pain that just adds to his suffering.

The book is divided into three sections, a monk saying about his life in each.

Three sinners and how and why they commit those sins.

Everytime a reader reads the climax of a section, they probably won’t be wasting more than a few seconds before reading the next. Each time you get to peep into the lives of three different characters with different kinds of misdoing on the toll, the author does not lose the touch. Each character is differently written with each having their own set of insanities.

You see the happiness, the fame, the satisfaction, all ruined when the demons reign.

The author, Aashish Gupta, dedicates his work to those similar to him, to those who have demons in their minds, demons who deny to be tamed.

I loved the simplicity of the cover, not too much in display but surely appealing, it speaks tonnes to those who understand and none to those who don’t. It’s the kind of cover that would make reader like me to pick them in order to go through the blurb.

The blurb is informative, just what provides a clear insight regarding the content of the book, not deceiving, not revealing, just the perfect amount of information.

The book is written in a simple yet captivating language, it holds in itself some beautiful pieces of poetry which flaunt the author’s storytelling skills.

Its a big book with a well spaced font, being a bibliophile, the book is an endearing addition to my collection.

Though the number of pages are 317, the well spaced font is that what led to the increase in the number, the book is easy to read and doesn’t consume much time.

The plot leaves the reader curious about the woman who ruined the second monk’s life, but that remains unanswered.

Despite being an all-in-all great read, the book is not for everyone.

If anyone is suffering from any sort of mental illness, I would strictly advice them to skip reading it because the book can be highly disturbing and has the ability to give rise to malicious thoughts.
